Arsenal ist zurück in Köln. Zu diesem Anlass haben wir die wichtigsten Infos zusammengestellt um euch den Trip nach Köln so angemeh wie möglich zu gestalten. Wir hoffen es gefällt euch und nimmt euch ein wenig Arbeit bei der Planung ab.

Anfahrt zum Stadion mit dem Auto:
Über den Kölner Autobahnring West (A1) die Ausfahrten Köln-Bocklemünd, Köln-Lövenich oder Köln-Weiden/Frechen nutzen. Von dort den Ausschilderungen „Stadion“ folgen. In Stadion-Nähe stehen rund 7.500 Parkplätze zur Verfügung.
How to find the stadium by car:
Exit the Cologne highway ring west (A1) at “Köln-Bocklemünd”, “Köln-Lövenich” or “Köln-Weiden/Frechen”. Follow the road signs leading to the stadium (“Stadion”). You find a bunch of parking lots nearby the stadium.
Anfahrt zum Stadion mit der Bahn:
Die Haltestelle „RheinEnergieStadion“ wird regulär von der KVB-Linie 1 angefahren. Um diese zu erreichen, fahrt ihr vom HBF mit der 16 (Richtung Sürth / Wesseling) oder mit der 18 (Richtung Bonn / Klettenberg) zum Neumarkt. Am Neumarkt angekommen steigt ihr in die Linie 1 (Richtung Weiden West); und auf geht’s zum Spiel! An Spieltagen verkehren in der Regel vom Kölner Hauptbahnhof und der Haltestelle „Neumarkt“ zusätzlich KVB-Sonderzüge, die das RheinEnergieStadion direkt ansteuern. Das können wir Euch aber noch nicht mit Sicherheit bestätigen. Die An- und Abfahrt mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln ist im Eintrittspreis enthalten – sofern Ihr schon bei der Anreise im Besitz einer gültigen Eintrittskarte seid. Müsste auch auf dem Ticket stehen, schaut einfach mal nach. Dies gilt nicht für Tickets, die über die Arsenal Mitgliedschaft erworben worden sind! How to get to the stadium by public transportation:
The station is named “RheinEnergieStadion”. You can reach the station by taking line number 1. If you arrive at the central station (“Köln Hauptbahnhof”), take line number 16 (to Sürth / Wesseling) or line number 18 (to Bonn / Klettenberg) to Neumarkt. Get out of the train and change to line number 1 (to Weiden West). On matchdays, you usually find special trains which run directly from the central station to the stadium. However, we don’t know if the local transportation company KVB will run those special trains then. Check the schedule! If you are heading to the stadium and you already carry the tickets with you then you don’t have to worry about tickets for the public transportation. The transfer from any station in Cologne to the stadium is included.But only for trams operated by KVB, so watch out! However, this is not applicable to tickets which are purchased with the Arsenal membership. Ausgehen nach dem Spiel:
Wenn Ihr nach den Spiel noch ein paar Kölsch in der Innenstadt trinken wollt, nimmt die Linie 1 zurück und fahrt bis zum Rudolfsplatz. Dort befinden sich entlang des Rings zahlreiche Kneipen. Geht ihr den Ring südlich entlang, werdet ihr nach ein paar Minuten zu Fuß den Zülpicher Platz erreichen. Von dort könnt ihr in die Zülpicher Str. rechts einbiegen und das Kölner Studentenviertel vorfinden. Müsst ihr zurück nach Hause und habt noch Zeit bevor euer Zug den Kölner HBF verlässt, dann könnt ihr in 5 Minuten das Kölner Brauhaus „Früh“ erreichen. Dafür einfach zum Kölner Dom gehen (direkt am HBF). Wenn ihr auf den Dom schaut geht ihr rechts in die Einkaufsstraße. Hinter dem ersten Häuserblock geht es dann links rein, in die Straße „Am Hof“. Dort findet ihr rechts mit der Hausnummer 12 das wohl bekannteste Brauhaus Kölns. Prost!
Going out after the match:
If you want to get some booze after the game, go back downtown by taking line number 1. Exit at “Rudolfsplatz”. There you will find plenty of bars and restaurants. If you walk south you will crash into “Zülpicher Platz” after a couple of minutes. Stray right to enjoy the nightlife of Cologne’s students. If you have to leave Cologne via the central station and you have to waste some time to wait for the train, then we have a better idea! Leave central station and go the impressive cathedral in front of the main station. If you are in front, go right to the main street “Hohe Straße”. After one block, turn left into a small alley called “Am Hof”. There you find the brewery “Früh”, one of Cologne’s best places to enjoy the local beer “Kölsch”. Cheers!
Kneipen am Stadion/Pub close to the stadium:
Hier empfehelen wir wie letztes Jahr die Doping Sportbar. Sie ist nahe am Stadion und gut zu erreichen. Es ist auch ein Außenbereich vorhaden. Die Internetadresse findet Ihr hier: http://doping-sportsbar.com/ Nutzt die Gelegenheit und lernt Gooners kennen, die ihr vielleicht nur über twitter kennt.
For drinks prior to the game we recommend Doping Sportbar. It's close to the stadium. Check www.doping-sportsbar.com for further details. We've been there last year and had a great time with gooners from around the world. You can get some Kölsch and get to know the fellow gonners you may just know via twitter.

Transfer Flughafen KÖLN/BONN – KÖLN HBF:
Am besten kommt ihr in das Stadtzentrum mit der Bahn. Geht zum Bahnhof und nimmt die Linie S13 (S-Bahn Richtung: Köln Hansaring ) zum Kölner Hauptbahnhof. Die Fahrt dauert nur 15 min und fährt mit einer 30minütigen Taktung.
Transfer from Cologne/Bonn airport to Cologne central station:
The best way to go downtown is by train. Take line number 13 at the train station to (“Köln Hansaring”) and exit at the central station (“Köln Hauptbahnhof”). The trip takes only 15 minutes and operates every half an hour.
Transfer Flughafen WEEZE – KÖLN HBF:
Hier dauert die Anfahrt länger. Als erstes nimmt ihr den Bus Nummer 073 Richtung Kevelaer Bahnhof. Lauft rüber zum BHF und nimmt die NordWestBahn (NWB75037) nach Krefeld Hbf. Von dort geht es dann ins schöne Köln mit dem Regionalexpress. Möglich sind bspw. der RE 10720 und der RE 10722. Vom Flughafen bis zum Dom seid ihr ungefähr 2 Stunden unterwegs. Seid ihr mit mehreren, so lohnt sich das „SchönerTagTicket NRW“. Für bis zu 5 Personen kostet es lediglich 37,50 Euro. Damit könnt ihr dann einen Tag lang in NRW in allen Zügen des Nahverkehrs (RE, RB, S-Bahn) sowie in Bussen, U- und Straßenbahnen aller Verkehrsverbünde in NRW fahren, also auch die KVB (Verkehrsbund in Köln) nutzen.
Transfer from Weeze airport to Cologne central station:
This transfer takes some time. First of all, take Bus number 073 to “Kevelaer Bahnhof”. Exit there and walk to the train station to take the train “NordWestBahn” (NWB75037) to Krefeld. Next, take the train “RE 10720” or “RE 10722” to Cologne (“Köln”). The journey from the airport to Cologne central station takes you at least two hours, so take some time! If you are more than one Gunner, you can save some money buying a group ticket for up to 5 guys/and girls of course. This will cost you only 37,50 Euro and allows you to use all busses, trams and trains (RE, RB, S-Bahn) in NRW for one day. The express trains IC and ICE are NOT included.
Übernachten in Köln:
Hostels findet ihr über http://www.hostelworld.com. Eine super Lage hat das Meininger Hostel, da man schnell an der Zülpicher Str. ist. Dort gibt es unzählige Kneipen und Restaurants. Darunter auch ein paar nette Irish Pubs. Hotels bucht ihr bequem über http://www.hrs.de.
Stay overnight in Cologne:
The first adress to book a hostel is http://www.hostelworld.com. We can recommend the “Meininger Hostel”, as it is very close to “Zülpicher Street” which is the nightlife area of Cologne’s students. If you prefer to stay at a hotel, check http://www.hrs.de is advisable.
